Orange Cake
A Traditional dessert cake recipe from Valencia where the best oranges are grown. Easy to make, fun to decorate! Decorate the cake with pieces of mandarin, orange rinds or chocolate shavings and delight your guests with this pleasant dessert. Variation on the recipe: Instead of one large cake, prepare 4 smaller versions to serve individual “cakelets”.
Ingredients:
- 25 oz cream cheese
- 6 oz biscuits
- 2 oz butter
- 2 oz of sugar
- 3 fl.oz orange juice
- 10 oz of mandarins or preserved oranges
- Chocolate shavings
Istructions:
- Mash up the biscuits and combine with the melted butter.
- Put the mixture in a loose-bottomed tin greased with butter and put it in the fridge for 15 minutes to set.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cheese, the sugar and the orange juice until you have a smoothe mixture.
- Pour the mixture over the base and return it to the fridge for four hours.
- Decorate your cake with pieces of mandarin orange and chocolate shavings.
